Hi welcome all, i left this up for navigation.
There are eight different 'pages' in this layout (including this).

Well believe it or not, I have done some thinking!

What is truth? What is being? What is life? What is death? Is there life after death? How do you know? (TOK SCREWS IB STUDENTS UPSIDE DOWN SERIOUSLY)

Thanks to the book Siddhartha, i was thinking about it. Well, death and dying is not necessarily the same thing. Death is death of a personality, a self, a being while remaning physically intact. While dying is dying physically. Does our consciousness exist after dying physically? Most people say it exists, while others say it doesn't. As for me, I believe anything is possible. We could merge with the elements like those chinese movies, we could be absolutely nothing as if we never existed or we could stay dormant till our consciousness finds another body and live on eternally in a state known as Nirvana. Or possibly like all happy endings, we find ourselves in heaven, sitting with God and talking about sweet-nothings.

To feel death, think about being nothing. Think about everything you loved taken away, the air you breath stop going into your lungs. The feeling in your fingertips fade away, your mind being stripped from your very being.

The very thought of that scares me. Wouldn't it scare anyone? Even though people say stuff like "I'd die for you." Who means it? Who wants to die?

I shall attempt to answer the question about everlasting life today. People who've had near death experiences say that they're being floats above where they were and they see things they'd normally never have seen. Sound familiar? Perhaps in stories? Or rumours, myths? The consciousness is a being in itself. Our body merely a vassal for it. Everlasting life, Nirvana. What if I said, you never died and never will die? Would you believe me? Say you died, and your consciousness taken away. What if you could put that same consciousness into another body, a body of a newborn child. Would you not have had a second chance at life?

This being said, all religions might not be so different after all. We all die and we all live again. The truth is ... we might never know. Until we find out for sure the answer, man will always be scared of the question to which there is no answer.
